Aharon Messeg was born in 1942 in Baghdad, Iraq. Messeg immigrated with his family to Israel in 1951 and already started painting as a young boy. Messeg married to the poet Sabina Messeg, whose family migrated from Bulgaria. He has had a long association with Clil, where he lives permanently since 1995. One of Israel’s leading painters who work with oils and watercolors, arriving at images which are a fusion of elements of inner and outer landscape. Messeg had his first exhibition in1967, and since then has had many one-man shows, both in Israel and abroad.
